Contacts established through CBI's membership with the World Reformed Fellowship, an international organization linking likeminded evangelicals, partnered with CBI to launch its South African campus. The first group of students is incarcerated in a facility near Pretoria, the country's executive capital.
In light of South Africa's unreliable mail system, Campus Director Alwyn Bezuidenhout visits students each week to present a devotional message, answer questions and deliver lessons. He fulfills requests for counseling as well. Backed by strong support from prison officials, the program will continue expanding into additional facilities.
Due to the positive support of the staff of correctional services, local churches and, most of all, the inmates, we can see the Lord’s blessing on our work.
